NAD+ is an essential coenzyme involved in human metabolic activities. As we age, the levels of NAD+ in the body gradually decline. Research has shown that oral intake of NMN is the most effective way to replenish NAD+, which can activate the longevity protein Sirtuins, boost immunity, and alleviate symptoms of aging.

NMN can directly enter cells via transporter proteins and be converted into NAD+ by NMNAT2. Alternatively, NMN may first be converted to nicotinamide riboside (NR) on the cell membrane surface, then taken up by cells in the form of NR, and subsequently converted into NAD+ through the actions of NRK and NMNAT2. Both NRKs and NMNATs are expressed across various organs and tissues, with the highest levels found in the liver.

Existing research data show that no abnormal fluctuations in serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST) or white blood cell count were observed in subjects five hours after oral administration of 500 mg NMN.
